The building of the Old Railway Station in Ilidža represents a significant industrial heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It originates from the Austro-Hungarian period (1878-1918) which marked the accelerated industrial development and many changes in the way of life and culture in the cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The building of the Old Railway Station in Ilidža was built in 1892 in the Alpine style according to a project made by Franc Blažek, a Czech architect. It was part of the Railway Infrastructure System, which consisted of a narrow-gauge railway and a number of other architectural structures. It lost its function in 1966 and has been rapidly declining since then.

In 2007 it was protected as a national monument.
As a monument, this building has significant national value in the cultural-historical and architectural context.

The building of the Old Railway Station in Ilidža is an abandoned and devastated building in a poor physical condition. In the past, changes were made to the building in order to displace its function, but the facade remained original.
