The Committee of the Regions is the EU's Assembly of Regional and Local Representatives.
The members of the Committee of the Regions, appointed regional and local representatives directly elected by their fellow citizens, gather at the CoR to have their say on the development of EU legislations and directives that impact regions and cities.
Throughout the European Union local and regional levels have, for example, key responsibilities for policies and activities related to education, culture, youth and sports. They are also key players in developing regional research and innovation strategies, and in harnessing the full potential of information and communication technologies to the benefit of society.
